The base S1 type e-scooter will not be available until late 2022, according to Ola Electric.
Ola Electric recently announced that all S1 customers would be upgraded to a limited version of the S1 Pro. Customers would then have the choice of continuing to use the scooter in its current state or paying Rs 30,000 to unlock the S1 Pro's enhanced features and performance.
The company has recently written emails to S1 purchasers confirming that the base S1 e-scooter will be produced, but only in late 2022. According to the company, the vast majority of its orders are for the S1 Pro, hence it is prioritising S1 Pro production. The business will continue to provide S1 purchasers with a limited S1 Pro until production of the S1 begins.
The S1 has a 2.98kWh battery pack with a 121km ARAI-certified range, while the S1 Pro has a 3.97kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 181km. The S1 and S1 Pro have different top speeds, with the S1 reaching 90kph and the S1 Pro reaching 115kph.
