In January, Maruti Suzuki announced a price increase across its entire product line. Maruti Suzuki's Arena (Alto, WagonR, S-Presso, Celerio, Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza, Eeco, and Ertiga) and Nexa (Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, and S-Cross) models, as well as Nexa models (Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, and S-Cross) models will see a pricing
Maruti Suzuki, like most other carmakers, has blamed the price increase on growing input prices.
The Dzire sedan, which has seen the smallest price increase, will now cost you back an extra Rs 10,000. Meanwhile, the WagonR hatchback, which is now Rs 30,000 more expensive, is the model on the opposite end of the spectrum. Nexa is Maruti Suzuki's higher-end retail location, where the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, and S-Cross are now available. The Ignis (Rs 15,000) is the Nexa vehicle with the lowest price increase, while the S-Cross, Maruti Suzuki's flagship SUV, has the highest price increase (Rs 21,000). In 2022, Maruti Suzuki will launch the updated Baleno hatchback by late February and the new Brezza SUV by April. Furthermore, in collaboration with Toyota, the carmaker will also introduce a Creta-rivalling midsize SUV. The midsize SUV will be based on Toyota’s DNGA platform and be manufactured at the carmaker’s facility in Bidadi, Karnataka.
